Overview
In the world of accounting, there are countless tedious but critical tasks required to ensure companies pay the right vendors at the right time. Accounts Payable (AP)—the process of paying bills—has traditionally been manual and error-prone, but automation dramatically reduces time, cost, and mistakes. “Companies using manual processes spend four times more per invoice than those with fully automated AP,” as per NetSuite’s The Business Case for AP Automation [1]. NetSuite’s Payment Automation software has been a key module in the accounting world of NetSuite. With the new partnership with BILL.com, a payments automation platform, there was an opportunity to redesign the Payment Automation SuiteApp.
Problem
Despite its name, NetSuite Payment Automation required significant manual effort, leaving users without real-time visibility into cash and forcing workarounds for basic payment scenarios—making it harder to trust the system or scale operations.
Solution
We launched Intelligent Payment Automation at SuiteWorld 2025, delivering a fully NetSuite-integrated experience that simplifies payments, provides real-time visibility into outgoing cash, and enables faster adoption through self-service onboarding. The result: tighter control of outgoing cash and scalable, end-to-end AP.
